DR.DAWGOG — hip-hop producer, beat maker and mix engineer from Anand, Gujarat
Dr.dawgOG is a hip-hop and boom bap music producer, beat maker and mix engineer based in Anand, Gujarat, India. Since 2014 the basement studio has made sample-flip beats for Gujarati, Hindi and English rap, produced and mixed records for Gujarati rap artists, and built BSMT.DSP, a suite of 27 free VST3 plugins for Windows. One name string is used everywhere: Dr.dawgOG (also written DR.DAWGOG and Dr. DawgOG on streaming platforms).

The sound
The Dr.dawgOG sound is boom bap built from records: drums chopped on an SP-404, loops lifted from Indian folk, film and devotional records played back at 45 rpm, basslines pushed into distortion, and vocals mixed loud and dry so the words hit first. The reel on the home page plays five instrumentals from the current tape, all boom bap at 90 bpm apart from one 170 bpm cut, all in F minor, all tagged DESI FLIP because the source material is Indian. When an artist wants trap, drill or a melodic beat, the same crate-digging approach applies: the 808 is tuned to the sample, the hi-hats are programmed against the loop, and the drop still sounds like it came off vinyl.
Mixing follows the same taste. Rap vocals are gated, de-breathed, ridden and compressed so they sit on top of the beat without an EQ hole under them, then tuned only as far as the song needs. The tools for that chain were built here (see BSMT.DSP below) and the method is written up in how to mix rap vocals with free plugins.

BSMT.DSP: 27 free plugins
BSMT.DSP is the plugin suite that came out of the basement sessions. It started as tools built for the room's own rap vocal chain, an autotune-style tuner, a vocal doubler, a vocal rider, a de-esser and breath control, and grew into 27 plugins covering dynamics, EQ, filters, reverb, delay, saturation, lo-fi and low end. Every plugin is a 64-bit VST3 and a standalone app for Windows 10/11, distributed from GitHub Releases with no account, no email gate and no trial. The full list with a page per plugin is on the plugins page; the ones that fill genuine gaps in the free market are WINDPIPE (breath control), ELEVATOR (vocal rider), CROWBAR (spectral ducker) and SOLVENT (resonance suppressor).
