BEDROCK — Free 808 and Sub Bass Enhancer Plugin (VST3, Windows)
BEDROCK is a free 808 and sub bass enhancer plugin for Windows 10/11 (64-bit), available as a VST3 and a standalone app. It generates the second and third harmonics of your sub, tracked to the 808's own envelope, so the bass reads on phone speakers and earbuds that cannot reproduce the fundamental; TIGHT cleans mud below the focus note and mono-below keeps the low end club-safe. It is part of BSMT.DSP, the free suite by Dr.dawgOG, a hip-hop producer from Anand, Gujarat.
What BEDROCK does
A phone speaker cannot play 40 Hz. It cannot play 60 Hz either. Yet listeners on phones still perceive bass in well-mixed records, because the brain reconstructs a fundamental from its harmonics: play 80 and 120 Hz together and you hear 40. A bass enhancer generates those harmonics on purpose. BEDROCK synthesizes the second and third harmonics of the sub and tracks them to the 808's own envelope, so the added tone swells and decays with each note instead of smearing as a constant buzz.
Two controls keep it clean. TIGHT removes the mud that sits below the focus note, the rumble that eats headroom without adding weight. Mono-below folds everything under a chosen frequency to the center, so the sub stays in phase on a club system and on a vinyl-style mono check. The result is bass that sounds louder and reads on small speakers without actually being louder on the meter.
808s, sampled bass and low-end translation
On a trap 808, set the focus to the 808's fundamental, raise the harmonic amount until the note is audible on your laptop speakers, then engage TIGHT so the sub-sonic rumble under the note disappears. On a boom-bap loop where the bass is baked into a sample, BEDROCK adds the definition that a mono bass line from a 1970s record lost in the chop.
Use mono-below on any low-end source heading for a master: it is the cheapest insurance against a sub that vanishes when a club system sums to mono. BEDROCK runs as a VST3 in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Reaper, Studio One, Cubase and Bitwig on Windows. Pair it with OVERBITE for clipping and CEILING for loudness.
How to use BEDROCK
- Insert BEDROCK on the 808 or bass track and set the focus to the note's fundamental.
- Raise the harmonic amount until the bass becomes audible on small speakers, checking on a phone or laptop.
- Turn on TIGHT to clean the mud below the focus note and free up headroom.
- Enable mono-below so the sub stays centered and phase-safe for club and vinyl-style playback.

BEDROCK FAQ
How do I make my 808 audible on phone speakers?
Add harmonics the phone can reproduce. BEDROCK generates the second and third harmonics of the 808, tracked to its envelope, so the brain reconstructs the missing fundamental. Check the result on an actual phone, not just headphones.
Is BEDROCK a free 808 plugin?
It is a free 808 enhancer, not an 808 instrument. You make the 808 in your DAW or sampler and put BEDROCK on it to add harmonics, clean mud and mono the sub. It is free with no signup as part of BSMT.DSP.
What does mono-below do?
It sums everything under a chosen frequency to the center. Stereo sub bass cancels on mono systems and on many clubs, so folding it to mono keeps the low end solid everywhere. BEDROCK builds it in.
Is BEDROCK really free?
Completely. No trial, no account, no email gate. It ships in the BSMT.DSP installer on GitHub Releases, and you can install just BEDROCK.
Does BEDROCK work in FL Studio and Ableton Live?
Yes. BEDROCK is a 64-bit VST3 for Windows 10/11 and works in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Reaper, Studio One, Cubase, Bitwig and any other VST3 host, with a standalone app included.
Install, SmartScreen and Mac questions are answered on the BSMT.DSP suite FAQ.
